Oh my gosh, I hate painting water! I suck at painting water! DX I'm sorry if this turned out like crap, but I really tried! The dragons didn't turn out as good as I wanted them too, but I still tried -_-'
This is a digital painting that I did of my original character Selena Ayladail (now Selena Altessa, the wife of Silver Altessa) surfing on the backs of water dragons. I was inspired by the piece that did (here's the link: [link] ). I sent a note to this deviant and is fine with it, just as long as I gave credit . This could have turned out a lot better. Perhaps when I get the chance, I can edit it later.
Selena recently learned how to summon water dragons and she's been trying to loosen up and have fun. She's also know a shapeshifter like her husband, Silver Altessa. I noticed that she looks too much like Katara from Avatar o.0
UPDATE: I JUST FIXED THIS UP IN PHOTOSHOP AND I THINK IT LOOKS A LOT BETTER THAN WHAT IT ORIGNALLY WAS >w< I coloured in her hair, did the details and highlights, I blended in the shadows on her skin, added some highlights to her eyes, and I fixed up the water dragons... Phew! I hope that it looks much better now! ^^:
UPDATE 2: I saw a little part in her outfit that was a little funky and messed up that I just fixed. >.>' I also put a watermark on it too.
UPDATE AGAIN LOL XD I DECIDED TO ADD MY PERSONAL LOGO TO THIS PIECE.
Wow! Its so beautiful to look at...It wonderful how you used the dragons in the waves cause yes waves in the ocean can change... I love the colors! You did a wonderful job on the waves and the dragons roar's and the reflection of the girl surfer on the water. Its ever detailed! You used some green to show that isn't a river. Gosh and the surfer isn't a surfer Ha! But I love how you made her one with the water! You made the waves look real like they are actually moving up and down like the tide Nicely done!
This is a very beautiful work of art. My first impression was Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender, but this painting is so unique and well done. The story you have behind it really makes the painting come alive, and I think you did a wonderful job on the water. The way it flows and the dragon/dragons are painted gives it a beautiful quality. I also love the light reflecting off the water and think that that was one of the highlights of the painting. My only negative critique would be to add more artistry to the dragon/dragons, unless that was the look you were going for. In short, I love everything about it.
